This Ford Focus owner wanted Hardcut limiter fitting along with a Stg2 Remap, Pop & Bang the whole works!
So we set the Hardcut to 6500rpm and also enabled the shift light to flash when it was doing it, for those that don’t know what Hardcut is, it basically makes a loud bang and usually flames out ot the exhaust at a given rpm.
Pop & Bang on the other hand is a little more subtle and does a similar thing but on de-acceleration when letting off the throttle peddle, again this can be tailored to certain rev’s and a certain strength, is it good for your car? No not really, it’s basically playing with ignition timing and forcing it to a point past top dead center.
We also installed Launch Control which basically means while stationary and with your foot on the clutch, pressing the accelerator peddle will only allow the car to rev to a set rpm, in this case 4800rpm, however once the peddle is released, the acceleration is instant and the car goes back to normal rev’s!
If the ignition timing is also reset at this given point then it also spool’s up the turbo prior to it being under load, not Anti Lag by any means, more like a software derived Anti Lag.
We have been messing with the ST for years and years now, i’ve owned a few myself, great motor for the money with plenty of tuning options available, just make sure it’s ‘block modded’ first!
