Chevrolet Captiva DPF Delete Mansfield

Well todays job, this Chevrolet Captiva was a little awkward to do right in the heart of main street Mansfield, so we decided to borrow Tesco’s car park and conduct operations there instead.

These are basically a Vauxhall Antara underneath, the same 2.2 diesel engine, this one with 184hp and 400nm torque as standard, the DPF filter was full to the limit, a classic sign of town driving and not getting the engine up to temp, so unfortunately for the shoppers in Tesco we performed a forced regen numerous times to get the content level down to something more acceptable. With only 76k miles on the clock this Chevy must have never tried to regen at all, A Delphi 3.7 is fitted to these as standard and after downloading the car’s ECU maps a few tweaks to the original software and a stage 1 remap was added.

This should ensure that in future the car handles the build up of soot correctly and perform the regen without fail otherwise the DPF delete will be the only option for it, very smoky when driving but it did clear a little, a good blast is what this car needs to get it all back to normal, now with 220hp and 500nm of torque the owners shouldn’t be able to even feel the caravan on the back!
